Brother Michael Holmes, S.C.

Brother Michael was a Brother of the Sacred Heart for seventy-three years. He taught at Msgr. McClancy Memorial High School 1960 - 1961 and returned to teach an additional fifteen years from 1971 - 1986. Brother Michael taught Religion, Latin, French, English and Social Studies. He was a gentle man who was very approachable and deeply cared for our school community. Please pray for his soul and for his family at their time of loss.

Brother Walter Doyle, S.C.

Born January 5, 1926 in Newark, New Jersey
Died October 4, 2008 at St. Catherine Siena Nursing Facility, Caldwell, New Jersey.

Brother Walter Doyle, S.C. was a dedicated Brother of the Sacred Heart and educator. He was a long time faculty member of Msgr. McClancy Memorial High School where he was the Chairperson of the Science Department and taught Religion classes. Brother Walter also was a former leader for many years in the New York City Biology Teachers Association. He earned his Bachelor of Science and Master degrees at Fordham University. Later Brother Walter earned his Ph.D. in biology from St. John's University.

He dedicated his life to God and the education of young people for a total of 58 years in Catholic education and 65 years as a Brother of the Sacred Heart.

The administration, faculty, staff, students, parents and alumni of Msgr. McClancy Memorial High School extends our condolences to the Doyle family and will keep the soul of Brother Walter Doyle, S.C. in our prayers.
